Our History

Kymer Lodge No. 8521 is a Freemasons' Lodge within the Masonic Province of Sussex under the auspices of United Grand Lodge of England.

Kymer Lodge was consecrated on the 30th of November 1973, and was sponsored by William de Warenne Lodge No. 6139 . The Lodge was founded by fifteen worthy Masons from many Lodges in the Province of Sussex and other provinces.

ImageKymer is the old English name for Keymer, and the Lodge crest shows the Oldland Windmill , an 18th century postmill situated in the village of Keymer in the County of West Sussex, with the Square and Compasses as the sweeps.

The Lodge meetings were originally held at Ockley Lodge, Ockley Lane, Keymer, Hassocks, West Sussex. However, when Ockley Lodge closed down the Lodge relocated to its present home at the East Brighton Masonic Centre, Peacehaven, East Sussex.
